What if you prayed to know God more?
Why do you pray? Think about that for a moment. What are you hoping to accomplish when you pray? What drives you to prayer?
I read many people’s posts on Facebook encouraging their friends to pray more and that’s great. Prayer makes a difference. Anyone who knows me knows how important I believe prayer is.
But as important as prayer is, what’s most important isn’t prayer but having a relationship with the one our prayers rise up to. What’s important is a life surrendered to Christ.
Are you seeking something or are you seeking someone when you pray?

There’s a huge difference between being drawn to prayer and being drawn to God.
An unfortunate truth is that many who pray do not know the Lord God.
Prayer in itself is not the answer. A deep loving relationship with God is.
The exciting thing is, the more we know the Lord, the more we will receive answers to prayers because in knowing God we will be praying for things he has in mind for us.
And when we do not see those answers, our joy will still be strong because of time spent in the presence of the Lord. Our end result will not be in seeing results but in being with God.
