What if We Prayed Against Satan?
Scripture is clear. Christians will face battles that come right from the devil himself.
He works to destroy everything God holds dear; and that includes those who love him. That includes us.
John 10:10 reads that “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
I Peter 5:7-8 tells us not to “be surprised by these fiery trials” but instead be “sober minded and alert because our enemy, the devil roams around like a roaring lion looking for those to devour.”
Satan is real. He’s well planned. And he’s powerful. So, how should we face this enemy?
James tells us in 4:7 to “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
We stand against Satan by submitting to God.
And how do we do that?
We pray.
A praying believer breaks the back of this enemy of God. As we pray, we become more aware of Satan’s evil workings. Prayer works to arm us for battle. It prepares us for whatever we will face.
When we do not pray as we should, we are not prepared for what lies ahead. It’s that simple.
Rather than trusting and depending on the working of the Holy Spirit, we’re leaning and depending on our own understanding. And nothing good can come from that.
The wonderful news is that God’s mercies are new everyday.
Yes, Satan’s strategies are real. But hear me in this; no strategy the enemy can ever bring against you is greater then the love and mercy of God.
He loves you with an everlasting love and as you trust in him, and submit to him, you will live the victorious and blessed life God has in mind for you.
The destructive plans of Satan will not succeed. God will use the very strategies of the evil one both for your blessing and his glory. Only God can do that. But God can do that; when we pray.
So, what if we prayed?
