Pray for those suffering
What if we prayed for those suffering?
Praying for those suffering can sometimes feel like a pebble in the ocean.
There are countless children being abused, starved and unloved.
Young girls and boys are being sex trafficked in unimaginable situations.
There are people living homeless lives.
And on top of these are those who are depressed, ill, and longing for a touch from someone who actually cares.
People all around us are suffering.
Some are crying out, others are suffering silently.
Can our prayers really make a difference?
Do they matter?
Yes. Our prayers do matter.
Not because of how we pray, the words we use or the feelings behind those words.
Our prayers make a difference because we’re praying to the God who cares.
The Bible is filled with passages speaking of how God cares for the hurting.
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Ps. 34:18
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Ps. 147:3
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort…”
2 Cor. 1:3
Not only is he is loving and compassionate but he actually grieves for the hurting.
“He is despised and rejected of men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief,”
Isaiah 53:3
As you pray for people who are suffering step out and pray large.
You may feel like your prayers are insignificant considering the circumstances, but keep in mind that you’re praying to God.
And nothing is impossible with God.
