“But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:32
Can you imagine having Jesus pray for you?
How might that change the way you see things?
One of the major ways Satan works to tear down our walk of faith in God is by speaking words of condemnation. He whispers that this time we really blew it. We’ll never change. He tells us God is disappointed in us and has possibly even turned his back to us. He tells us we’re not forgiven.
Those are lies right from the pit of hell. The truth is that not only does Jesus not reject us but he always loves us and actually prays for us, just as he did for Peter.
Jesus not only prayed for Peter, but he prayed for him knowing Peter would deny and betray him. He certainly never gave up on him.
Imagine knowing that, as he did for Peter, Christ prays for you during your darkest times. This is exactly what scripture teaches us.
“Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” Romans 8:34
“Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” Hebrews 7:25
In the same way our Lord prayed for Peter he prays for you and for me.
If you’re struggling today, find joy and peace in knowing this.
You are loved, you are accepted, and the one who knows you the best and loves you the most prays for you.
How freeing this is!
What if you prayed?
