What if we prayed for victory?
Do you ever feel like praying for a particular victory is an endless battle?
You pray for change only to experience the same thing again and again and again.
These unfulfilled prayers are often accompanied by thoughts of failure.
- Again I failed?
 - This will never change.
 - I will never change.
 - Why bother trying?
 - Why bother praying?

Our answer to this may be to pick ourselves up and determine to try again. We confess our failings, shortcomings and desperate need to the Lord and promise to do better—next time.
Some of us give up and move on. Why bother praying for something that will never happen, that will never change?
What should we do when a desperately needed answer to prayer is just not happening?
Battles need to be fought, but they need to be fought right.
What if, instead of focusing on the problem at hand, you turned your focus to God and trusted him for victory?
When thoughts of defeat and failure flood your mind look to God.
Scripture is your answer to this battle.
Study it. Meditate on it.
Make it part of your life.
Choose a portion of scripture and write down everything you discover about who God is. Write everything. Nothing is too insignificant. Try reading through each chapter of one of the four gospels and record everything you find about who Jesus is; his character traits and everything you discover about him in the passage.
As you redirect your thoughts from the situation to God, he will give peace along with the grace and guidance you need in order to receive the freedom you’re looking for.
Keep in mind, though, that freedom can come in different forms.
Sometimes freedom comes as a change in your circumstances.
But sometimes freedom comes as a change in your perspective, in how you see things.
God knows what you need. He understands the victory you’re desperately seeking.
Philippians 4:19 is a great promise addressing our need.
“And my God will meet all your needs according the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
Stop focusing on the battle you’re facing and instead, keep your eyes on the one who will bring the victory.
