Praying Against the Laws of Nature

“Jesus looked at them and said, with man this is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”

I don’t think many of us really understand what that means. Or we may understand it but we do not take it to heart.

This verse from Mark 10:27 means there is nothing God cannot do, literally nothing.

He is not restricted or even affected by natural limitations.

The laws of nature do not apply to the Lord. They do not control or even affect him.

As a matter of fact, he uses the laws of the universe to fulfill his plans. He works them out for good, for his glory.

They are under his power and control.

He’s not bound by time. He controls it.

Human impossibilities are not even hard for him.

There is no situation beyond what he is able to change and work together for his purpose.

God was not restricted when he held back the sun and the moon for 24 hours in order for a battle to be won by Israel against the Amorites. (Joshua 10)

Neither was he restricted when he held back the red sea in order for over 2 million Israelites to pass by on dry land.

And the laws of nature did not confine Jesus when he healed the blind and deaf, raised the dead and rose from the grave.

Never filter your prayers through a lens of human possibility.

Enter into every prayer you pray acknowledging the fact that God can do it. He is able. I usually say this aloud as I pray for impossible prayer concerns.

I need to hear it. I need to remind myself that God is the God of the impossible. That’s his nature. And that’s whom I’m praying to.

The only thing that hinders the miraculous working of God through the prayers of his believers is lack of faith in an all-powerful God.

Our lack of faith in God and what he can do has a direct affect on the answers to our prayers. His word is clear about that. One example is found in Matthew 21:21-22 Jesus caused a fig tree to wither with just his words. He went on to say,

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go throw yourself into the sea, and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Do you have a prayer concern that seems impossible?

Praise God. He can work his miraculous grace and power in this very concern.

He can do it.

No life is beyond his loving touch.

No financial need is too great for him to provide.

No relational conflict is beyond his divine intervention.

There is no prayer you can ever lift up to God that he is not able to answer.

Place your trust in him.

Be assured that he will work in the very situation you’re struggling with to bless you beyond words. He will use it for good if you will but surrender it to him.

Only God can but God can!

Nothing, literally nothing, is impossible for God.
